STREET CHILDREN 1

 

Kampala is one of the cities with the most number of street kids . Kisenyi a slum in the city holds about 40000 people with poor living conditions holds the largest number of street kids.

These children come from different regions of the country but mostly from the Northern Region and Eastern Region of the country . This is because of the alarming poverty in the above mentioned regions.

The most spots for these children are . Namirembe road , makindye more so on that newly constructed road toward the military barracks and so forth . The number of these children keeps on increasing day by day as it is a business to a number of people who bring these children from their  regions to the streets . Such people are always near by watching closely , as these children are given a penny it's immediately collected 

At times these children are brought to the streets are brought by their own parents or other family member and further by their relatives . In order to gain more sympathy these children carry babies on their backs .

The city authorities have tried to remove these children from the streets but it's like nothing is being done because the number keeps on increasing day by day . 

This leaves a number of unanswered questions that is to say ; who is behind the shooting numbers of children on streets , Do the authorities have a plan for these kids , How best can this be prevent among others.
